I bought the 3 decorative ones from my Local Charity Shop, where I happened to find 3 mini vintage trophies with pigeons on top. I removed all the plastic paraphernalia from the bird cages and cleaned and painted them. I dismantled the trophies, and attached the pigeons to the cages. I've used them to house all sorts of displays.
I have a large fireplace, with wood storage bins on either side. They used to look like this...
But now they look like this... 
Soon I'll find something else creative to do with them! Actually I wouldn't mind filling them with some beautiful birds from the print by Carolyn Gavin of Designer Blog . Her range of stationery is 100% recycled and it's delicious!
